Sliding the closet window open, I grab out a handful of shoeboxes. Some include affirmation notes and letters from past events, others include bracelets and ornaments to remember the stories that once were. A look through these reminiscent belongings brought a mix of emotions: joy, nostalgia, and sadness to name a few. Reading through one final note, I couldn’t help but wonder: “Is this going to keep on happening? A read-through once in a blue moon and shoving it back in the closet or will something new come out of it?” A few days later, a scrapbook shows up on my doorstep. Thanks, Amazon. Cutting what seemed like endless amounts of scotch tape strips turned into a blur of taping in pictures, notes, and cards to create the scrapbook covering over a decade's worth of memories. Scraps of the past had now become the creation for a creation for those in the future to witness.
